I grew up in a small Kentucky town, adopted and raised by loving parents who supported me through every twist life threw my way. As a kid, sports were my entire world. I played football, basketball, baseball, golf, and raced motocross. If it involved competition, I was in. Baseball was my passion and the sport I poured most of my energy into, until an arm injury changed my path. Looking back, it was one of those moments that didn’t go the way I planned, but ultimately led me somewhere better.
Even after sports ended, staying active remained a big part of my life. I found new ways to challenge myself by traveling, golfing when I have the patience for it, riding dirt bikes, running Spartan races, and eventually picking up a camera. Photography started simply by capturing motocross, the sport I grew up around. I spent that first year traveling to tracks, riding during open practices, and shooting races to build a portfolio. At one point, I even drove six hours to Georgia for the sake of getting better content.
About a year and a half later, everything changed. I got the opportunity to shoot for Racer X Illustrated, the top motocross magazine in the industry. Davey Coombs the owner of Racer X and president of the Pro Motocross series, gave me a chance to photograph two events for them. One of my images ended up featured in the table of contents of the November 2023 issue. I’ll never forget walking into a bookstore and seeing a photo I took printed in the same magazine I’d been reading since I was ten. Truly a bucket list moment.
Since then, my work has expanded. For the past three seasons, I’ve been photographing high school football across Bowling Green and the surrounding areas, as well as Division II and III college sports. Shooting with my Nikon Z9 on Friday nights and Saturdays has been a blast. Especially in a city loaded with Division I talent. What keeps me coming back is the energy of the game, the passion of the athletes, and the chance to preserve a moment they’ll never forget.
I love capturing people doing what they love because I’ve been there. I know what it feels like to compete, to want to freeze a moment in time, and to cherish it years later. Whether it’s a game winning play or a quiet moment of focus, my goal is to deliver images that tell a story and mean something long after the lights go out.
